Record Entry of BDO North West runners conquer Great Manchester Run
A 70-strong team from BDO North West joined thousands of runners at this year’s Great Manchester Run on 22 May.
BDO has been enthusiastic supporters of the event for many year. In entering its biggest ever team, both Manchester and Liverpool offices were strongly represented, as well as the thriving Shared Service Centre, based in Liverpool. The team included many of the new recruits and trainees who have joined the firm in the last couple of years. Other BDO staff, friends and family supported the team along the route. Everyone hugely enjoyed the event (and also putting their feet up at the post-race social afterwards), and are already looking forward to 2023 – 11 months of training to go!
Stephen Holden, Tax Manager at BDO and organiser of this year’s BDO running team, said: “The Great Manchester Run is one of the great days in the city’s calendar. It is a truly fantastic event for everyone – whether to get fit, to run it for fun, or if you’re hoping to beat your personal best. It was great to see so many people sign up for the race, especially so many trainees and new joiners to the firm.”
Ed Dwan, Partner and Head of BDO in the North West, said: “What an effort by our 70-strong team! It’s amazing to think that one in five people in the North West office limbered up for the Great Manchester Run. It is an event that we are delighted to participate in each year, on what is always a great day for our city.”
