This week’s round up of London appointments includes First Hydrogen, Fiinu and Secure Trust Bank. Read on to find out more.
Carlo Alberto D’Amicis, First Hydrogen
First Hydrogen Limited has appointed Carlo Alberto D’Amicis as chief financial officer, to support the automotive and energy company’s growth.
Carlo joins First Hydrogen from RHI Magnesita N.V., a specialist in refractories with annual revenues of €2.5bn, listed on the London Stock Exchange, where he led a 120-person global finance team situated in over 15 countries as a Senior Finance Executive.
He also held the position of CFO Americas for RHI Magnesita; his responsibilities included integration of the business post-merger between RHI and Magnesita, which provided him with “valuable experience” in restructuring their business and developing shared service centres while helping to drive consistent gross margin expansion.
In his role at First Hydrogen Limited, Carlo will support the Company’s C-suite to deliver its first hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and establish environmentally sustainable green hydrogen production sites.

Chris Sweeney, Philip Tansey, Huw Evans and Wan Chuen Lau: Fiinu
Fiinu has announced the appointment of four additional members to its senior leadership Team. Chris Sweeney, Philip Tansey, Huw Evans (pictured above) and Wan Chuen Lau all join the company in anticipation of Bank of England authorisation of its bank licence application.
Joining the executive management team as CEO is Chris Sweeney, brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the industry following a period as CEO of 118 Money, in addition to CEO of Vanquis Bank, where he drove the bank’s key digitisation agenda.
The company’s new Group CFO, Philip Tansey, joins Fiinu from AIM quoted financial services group, WH Ireland Group Plc, where he acted as CFO and COO. Alongside this expertise, Philip has extensive experience leading global operations in dynamic enterprises, positioning Fiinu well for potential future international expansion.
Huw Evans joins the Board as an independent non-executive director after nearly 40 years’ experience in financial services, including 30 years at Barclays Bank. With expertise in wholesale, small business and consumer credit, as well as enterprise-wide banking risk, Huw brings with him vast knowledge as a seasoned risk professional.
Wan Chuen Lau has joined as chief conduct and culture officer. Prior to Fiinu, she led the legal, operational and portfolio management functions at Wadhawan Global, a family office with a specific mandate to invest in UK financial services firms, startups and technology enablers.
Vincent Walker, Secure Trust Bank
Secure Trust Bank has added further expertise to its commercial finance arm, with the appointment of Vincent Walker as regional sales director to its London office. Bringing more than 20 years of finance experience, Vincent has worked across structured and trade finance as well as alternative credit.
He is a specialist in deal origination and structuring, with previous roles including senior positions at JP Morgan, Barclays Capital and Natwest, and most recently three and a half years as deal manager at Blackstar Asset Management.
At Secure Trust Bank Commercial Finance, Vincent will be responsible for supporting businesses in London and the South East of England, through the bank’s range of flexible asset-based lending and invoice finance products.
He will work closely with management teams, advisors and private equity to deliver tailored facilities that meet the needs of their business on an individual basis.
