Bellway London to launch new homes at Barking Riverside development to meet demand
Bellway London is preparing to release a new selection of homes for sale at Fielders Quarter in Barking Riverside as it strives to keep pace with demand.
Phase one was unveiled during a remote launch as the country adjusted to lockdown in April 2020. The first phase sold out ahead of schedule and when phase two launched, the momentum has continued, with all the homes now sold.
Bellway’s London Partnerships division is building the homes at Fielders Quarter and 146 have now been occupied. It will build 1,500 of the 10,800 homes planned for the site of the former Barking Power Station. They will sit alongside new facilities and infrastructure within the new town.
Amie Triphook-Cole, head of sales for Bellway London, commented: “Bellway is playing a leading role in the development of Barking Riverside. Having initially been development partner to Barking Riverside Limited, we remain firmly committed to the project, with plans to build 1,500 homes across Fielders Quarter and future development parcels.
“Fielders Quarter is located close to the new railway station, set to open later this year, and Uber Thames Clipper service, which is now fully operational and provides services from Barking Riverside Pier to Victoria Embankment in Central London every 30 minutes.
“As the country’s first healthy town, its transport links and sustainable design and delivery have enhanced its appeal. We see a lot of first-time buyers here, as well as people who live locally. Others are relocating to take advantage of everything the area offers.
“Barking is one of London’s most affordable boroughs and along with Barking Riverside Limited, we are helping to create one of the most innovative, diverse and dynamic neighbourhoods with a thriving new community.”
