(L - R): New starters as part of Advantex’s current recruitment push are Preston Vout, Mathew Struthers, Chris Adamson and Nicole Antonini.

Gateshead tech firm launches latest recruitment drive

North East IT network and connectivity specialist Advantex has launched a recruitment drive to support growth and expansion of customer services.

The Gateshead firm is creating up to 10 new roles as it looks to bring on additional business development managers, help desk advisers, network engineers and administration staff to support its operations at its Follingsby Park head office.

The recruitment push comes as Advantex continues to pursue “ambitious growth” while contributing to improving connectivity, cybersecurity and network services for companies across the North of England.

Demand for its expertise and product solutions has seen a mix of new business wins and existing client growth for the firm in the last 12 months. This includes projects for trade furniture manufacturer HLF Group, composite door manufacturers Virtuoso, cable suppliers D-Line, construction group Galliford Try and Hitachi Rail and several high schools.

The move follows the appointment of Chris Adamson as small works account manager and Nicole Antonini as digital marketer, who will oversee the firm’s small projects and consultancy work, and online content marketing activity respectively. Will Cape also joins as an engineering apprentice alongside new engineers Preston Vout and Mathew Struthers.

Currently employing 60 people and targeting a £6m turnover this year, new product and service introductions and a strong pipeline of forward orders for the next 12 months have contributed to the need for additional resources, according to sales and marketing director, Stephen O’Connell.

He added: “Today, we are in an exciting era for digital technologies that improve business performance and develop critical infrastructures. Companies such as Advantex are vital in supplying the expertise, technical skills and leadership to deliver the solutions to help public and private sector organisations.

“Our growth is matched by a strong commitment to investment in the recruitment, training and development of our workforce and building a highly skilled and dedicated workforce fit for the future. There has never been a more exciting time to join us.”
