Ben Ridger, Eville & Jones

Leeds based Eville & Jones has appointed Ben Bridger to the newly created position of finance director, supporting the leadership team to drive the group’s growth agenda.

Reporting into the chief executive, Ben will be responsible for heading up all aspects of financial reporting and strategy, and brings with him more than a decade of financial experience, joining from The Brook Group where he was group finance director.

Eville & Jones is using its position as the largest private provider of veterinary public health official controls in Europe as a platform to become the “world’s leading” private provider of veterinary, compliance, and public health solutions to the food industry.

Charles Hartwell, chief executive officer at Eville & Jones said: “We’re pleased to have Ben join Eville & Jones to help align and take ownership of our financial structures. He brings with him a wealth of experience which will be invaluable in driving our business forward as we continue to lead in veterinary public health.”

Ben commented: “I am delighted to be joining Eville & Jones at an exciting phase of their journey. Whilst it’s a new sector for me, I’m keen to learn and develop in the role and hope to bring new skills and best practices to the table.”

Jonathan Carr, Gravitate Accounting

Gravitate Accounting, which specialises in Xero cloud software, digital accounting and outsourced FD services, has added a third director to its board as it continues to grow.

Jonathan Carr (pictured right), who has been employed as a client finance director at the Sheffield based business since January 2021, has become a minority shareholder to support the strategic direction of the business alongside co-founders Sam Newton (pictured left) and Mike Crocker (pictured middle).

Gravitate Accounting has also hired three new team members to support the firm’s growing client base. They are digital accountant Charlie Goodwin, client financial controller Charlotte Firth and office support Amy Howard.

Jonathan commented: “I’m absolutely delighted to become a shareholder at Gravitate Accounting. It’s been an incredible journey so far, working alongside our fantastic team of specialists to offer the very best financial advice for a range of interesting and ambitious businesses across the Yorkshire region and beyond.

“It’s great to see Gravitate Accounting go from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to being increasingly involved with the future direction of the business.”

Newton added: “Jonathan is an experienced accountant and is extremely well thought of in the accountancy sector here in Sheffield. We’re really pleased to welcome him to our board, alongside our brilliant new recruits, as we continue on to the next chapter of our growth journey.”

Mushiirah Mohungoo, 360 Chartered Accountants

360 Chartered Accountants is delighted to announce the appointment of its new senior corporate portfolio manager. Mushiirah Mohungoo (pictured middle), who has 10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting and finance, both in the UK and overseas, joins 360 from a “leading” London accountancy firm.

Adrian Hunter, managing director of 360, commented: “We are thrilled to have attracted Mushiirah from London and we know that she is going to be a great asset. Her experience as an accountant, dealing with personal as well as corporate finance, will be invaluable to our clients and will be a great resource for her to share with the team here.”

As well as proactively managing a portfolio of corporate clients, Mushiirah will lead her own team of accountants and apprentices, developing their skill set and actively mentoring them as part of their professional development.

Mushiirah added: “It’s a privilege to join such an amazing firm which will allow me to develop my skills even further. I’ve been reading about 360 in the news for a while now and monitoring their social media channels to see what they’re doing, so when I saw an opening, I jumped at the opportunity.

“They are so passionate about putting their clients at the heart of their decision-making – and they really care for the wellbeing of their employees too. I have also been impressed by their corporate environmental policies, including having a paperless office, as well as their support of the local community.”
