Hay & Kilner Celebrates Double Success At Northern Law Awards
North East law firm Hay & Kilner is celebrating twin success at the 2022 Northern Law Awards.
The Newcastle-headquartered practice was chosen as the winner of both the Private Client and Corporate/Commercial categories at this year’s Awards, which were presented at a gala dinner at the Gateshead Hilton Hotel hosted by comedian and radio presenter Alfie Joey.
The Awards recognise the success of all those practising and working in the legal industry in the North of England, with individuals and teams from Hay & Kilner being recognised in 11 separate categories this year.
Hay & Kilner’s private client team was named as a ‘Tier One’ firm in most recent edition of legal sector ‘bible’ The Legal 500, with partner and head of department Alison Hall being referenced as a Leading Individual in the field and colleagues Richard Marshall and Alice Clewes highlighted as Next Generation Partners.
Led by partners Jonathan Waters and Mark Adams, Hay & Kilner’s corporate & commercial team is cited in the Legal 500 as having ‘a wealth of experience in sectors such as care homes, pharmaceuticals, financial services and agriculture, among others.’
Hay & Kilner, which celebrated its 75th anniversary last year, is one of North East England’s leading independent law firms and provides a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals from both within and outside the region.
It is named as a ‘regional heavyweight’ by the Legal 500 and is set to move into new headquarters at The Lumen within the landmark Newcastle Helix hybrid city quarter later in the summer.
Jonathan Waters, managing partner at Hay & Kilner Law Firm, says: “To have received so many nominations is testament to the excellence of the work that our teams deliver right across the firm, especially given the wider issues that we’ve all had to manage over the last two years, and winning awards in such highly competitive categories is simply the cherry on the cake.
“Hay & Kilner has long been renowned for the excellence of its private client team, while the work undertaken by our corporate & commercial teams has become increasingly more complex and high value and is a key focus for future growth.
“The North East has an extremely strong legal community which very much holds its own against its national and regional peers, and we’re very happy to be recognised alongside its other leaders through the Northern Law Awards.”
