Businesses get back into the swing of things at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf day
Regional businesses got back into the swing of things at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf day – that made a welcome return to the calendar for the first time since Covid-19.
The President’s Golf Day event was held at Chamber member Nailcote Hall Hotel, the hosts of the upcoming 2022 British Par 3 Championship.
Thirty golfers of different abilities from across the region’s thriving business scene made their way around the nine-hole Cromwell Course.
The main award went to ‘Kayb’, 28, of Coventry-based CP Coaching Academy, who carded a score of 18 points dressed in Tiger Woods’s signature red and black shirt. In the challenge event, the Chamber’s HR Manager Matt Hammersley came out on top.
Tom Mongan, President of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, was there to present the winners with their prizes.
Tom said: “It’s great to have the President’s Golf Day back on the Chamber calendar again – and to see everyone mixing on the golf course and enjoying the networking opportunities that a day like today always presents.
“To raise over £100 for Cancer Research has made the day extra special. Congratulations to Kayb and Matthew for winning their respective prizes.
“We’d like to thank Rick Cressman and the rest of the Nailcote Hall team for their hospitality, and we’re really grateful to our partners at BMW Rybook Corporate Department for their ongoing support and kind donation to the prize pot.
“I’m honoured to be embarking on my third year as President of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and look forward to welcoming you all to the President’s Golf Day next year.”
Kayb said: “I’m absolutely blown away. I’m only a casual golfer, so to win the trophy is amazing. I am incredibly grateful to Trish Adudu and Louise Bennett at the Chamber for putting me forward to take part.
“It was a brilliant event, and I got to play golf and meet people in different sectors that I normally would not come across. It really helped me establish new connections and has given me added drive to progress my Golf With Kayb (GWK) social media channel and help more people enjoy the game and reach those in need of advice and guidance.” The President’s Trophy was awarded to the Par 3 winner, as well as a BMW I4 M50 weekend experience and four ball golf day at Nailcote Hall for the individuals who came first and second in the golf dartboard challenge respectively.
Sam Probert, Business Development Manager at BMW Rybrook Warwick, said: “We’ve collaborated with Chambers that operate in the areas where our operations are centred for some time, and events such as the Coventry and Warwickshire President’s Golf Day are the perfect way to support regional business and do our bit for charity.”
“Nailcote Hall is a great venue for golfers and we enjoyed meeting some new faces, donning our golf gear in the name of charity and hearing about some of the wonderful businesses that are helping Coventry and Warwickshire to thrive.”
Rick Cressman, owner of Nailcote Hall Hotel, said: “As members of and big advocates for the Chamber, we were delighted to welcome Tom and the rest of the participants for the President’s Golf Day.
“It was satisfying seeing golfers of all abilities come and hit some golf shots, chat business and have fun. There were a lot of fresh faces at the event who have never played our course before and we hope they enjoyed themselves and would like return at a later date. We look forward to welcoming them back to Nailcote Hall in the future.”
