(L - R): New recruits Zak Warburton and Tom Tinant with Harlyn Solutions managing director Hamish Adamson.

Blyth based transporting specialist expands its team in the wake of new offshore contract wins

Engineering-led transporting company Harlyn Solutions has further increased its team at its headquarters in Blyth, following a raft of new contract wins.

The company, which has seen significant growth since it was established in 2019, has added another permanent new role to its team as well as an engineering student placement - bringing the company’s headcount up to six. Zak Warburton and Tom Tinant joined the Harlyn Solutions team at the end of May.

Project Coordinator Zak has a background in shipping agency roles. His role at Harlyn Solutions will be to support project management, the project vessels and port calls, organising logistics and delivering client’s projects.

Tom is a second-year Marine Technology with Offshore Engineering student at Newcastle University. Tom will initially be joining Harlyn Solutions on a student placement.

Now in its third year of operation, Harlyn Solutions almost tripled its turnover in its second year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and is on track to continue to grow in the current year. Its work includes a mix of consultancy and large-scale offshore transport projects, moving complex and unique cargo from point of origin to its final destination.

With an “impressive” track record of projects already under its belt, for clients who are building big and need an engineering-led transportation solution to save them time and money, the team, all of whom are under the age of 30, boast a client list that includes Texo Group, Osbit, Royal IHC and Enshore Subsea Ltd.

Harlyn Solutions managing director Hamish Adamson said: “The growth of the offshore and subsea energy sector brings with it more demand for our services year-on-year. World-class innovators need a world-class shipping service.

“We’re finding that our offshore clients are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of an engineering-led approach when it comes to moving their incredible projects, enabling them to mobilise anywhere, quickly.

“This is a fantastic sector in which to build a career. Because we’re a small team, there are lots of opportunities for new starters like Zak to get involved with all of our projects. We’re looking forward to Tom spending the summer with us, getting practical experience in the field.”
