Congleton-based Beartown Brewery opens new taproom ‘The Den’
Congleton based Beartown Brewery opens The Den in their Spindle Street site, serving beer brewed with brand new equipment.
After stopping the brewing process in January 2022 due to renovations, Beartown is now brewing again. Friday July 1st marks the biggest and most ambitious evolution of the Beartown Brewery brand since it first started in 1994, following on from a period of rebranding and the release of new products.
The Den is perfectly positioned for customers to watch the team at work with a beer in hand. The beer menu will be ever changing and will be served alongside a selection of wines, spirits and coffee. Key products in the range include the best selling dessert-inspired Creme Bearlee, the flagship pale ale, Kodiak, and the super pale ale, ‘LIT’.
An ideal venue for a post work-pint or for functions, The Den is available for private hire for celebrations, community groups, workshops and corporate events. Brewery Tours as well as beer and gin tastings will also be available.
Joseph Manning, managing director of Beartown Brewery said: “We are excited to finally open the doors to The Den, our taproom serving some of our old favourites as well as some new additions, all brewed here in Congleton.
“The Den has long been a dream of mine. We’re looking forward to welcoming the people of Congleton and beyond. We have space here for up to 70 people and are open 10AM - 10PM Tuesday to Sunday with an ever changing selection of beers on offer.”
The Beartown Brewery story began in 1632, when Congleton, a town in Cheshire, sold its bible to buy a Bear. From that day forward Congleton was given a new name, Beartown. The business, which is owned by the Manning family, is committed to remaining a sustainable brewery. As they expand the site, the Mannings look to blend traditional craft with a modern style.
