Tech consultancy firm, Opencast opens Edinburgh office
Opencast, one of the UK’s fastest-growing technology consultancies, has officially opened a new city hub in Edinburgh in response to a rise in the number of its people working close to the city, and the new client opportunities that the Scottish capital offers.
Edinburgh attracts some of the best tech talent in Scotland, and is a UK-leading hub for sectors including fintech and B2B-focused startups. The city is also home to over 3000 UK civil servants covering 11 government departments, as well as to the Scottish government.
Since its foundation in 2012, the rapidly growing tech business has increased its team to over 300 people, on the back of major new client contract wins across the UK – see the full list of clients below.
To mark the opening of its Edinburgh hub, on 6 July Opencast hosts an ‘open house’ networking evening reception at the new office in Lochrin Square, bringing together people from the Edinburgh tech community with the Opencast team.
Welcoming the Edinburgh launch, Opencast chief executive Tom Lawson said, “we’re excited to be launching our latest city hub in Edinburgh, both for our people located there and for the new business opportunities that the city offers.
“A new recruitment campaign in Scotland should see the numbers of our people needing access to the new Edinburgh hub in the next 12 months increase to around 40. We want to recruit the best from Scotland’s rich digital talent pool, adding to our growing UK-wide presence.”
Tom added, “we chose Spaces for our city hubs as they allow us to offer our people across the county facilities and experience similar to our Newcastle HQ, regardless of their location.”
Opencast, which was founded in 2012, delivers digital consultancy and services for clients in the heart of government, global finance, and growth enterprise. It delivers a range of services across software, digital and technical delivery, user-centred design, and platform engineering. Its people work remotely and across its four locations in Newcastle, Leeds, London, and now Edinburgh.
Opencast’s flexible working policy does not impose a requirement to be in an office at any one time, rather, it is led by trust and the principle of working in the right place at the right time to deliver impact for clients most effectively.
