An outdoor adventure as Lovell Homes sponsors primary school nature learning day
Primary children from Priors Hall School in Northamptonshire have joined Lovell Homes to learn about wildlife conservation, celebrating the launch of its latest site.
Redwing Square in Corby is set within 965 acres of parkland Priors Hall School is located just minutes from the site, which boasts a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom new-build homes.
Children have taken on the role of ‘Redwing Warriors’ to learn how to care for all kinds of wildlife in the development and surrounding areas.
Trish Foster, regional sales director for Lovell, said: “With Redwing Square gaining its name from the threatened species of bird, we wanted to highlight the importance of caring for wildlife in the community. Working with Priors Hall School was the ideal opportunity to educate the next generation.
“We’re always eager to engage local people in activities surrounding our developments and add real value to the communities in which we work.”
Pupils at the school received information on becoming ‘Redwing Warriors’, including tips on shelter, nutrients and water sources to help the students care for birds. Lovell donated 14 bird feeders to the school so the children can encourage wildlife into the grounds and gifted a packet of bird seeds to each of the 300 students at the school.
Tess McQuade, headteacher at Priors Hall School, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Lovell on this conservation activity linked to Redwing Square. We actively encourage learning outside of the classroom, and the generous donation of bird seeds and feeders will help our pupils get up close with nature.
“As a school we’ve watched the development grow just down the road. It’s lovely to be able to involve the children in how to care for the surrounding areas for years to come.”
The development forms part of the Priors Hall Park scheme, for which Lovell is working in partnership with Urban&Civic to create a new community aiming to grant a rural way of life whilst still giving homeowners the perks associated with town living, thanks to local amenities including road and rail.
Trish said: “We believe that Redwing Square offers the perfect opportunity to be a part of this landmark development. We look forward to welcoming prospective buyers to our show homes and to creating a lasting legacy in the region for generations to enjoy.”
