South Tyneside manufacturer’s “exciting” new venture to create specialist jobs
South Tyneside based HQ Fabrication Ltd is experiencing a period of growth after a number of significant contract wins, leading to new specialist job creation and the company’s newest venture: its own product portfolio.
Established in 2017, HQ Fabrication Ltd designs, fabricates and engineers products for client projects in a number of sectors within Europe. From food manufacturing, oil and gas and mining to heavy manufacturing and satellite communications, it works with clients to identify and solve problems they encounter within their production process.
It also offers installation and maintenance services for both marine and civil construction, including assistance with design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and onsite project management.
In the last five years, HQ Fabrication Ltd has experienced a steady growth with a number of significant contract wins which allowed managing director Chris Hall to reinvest back into the business.
In 2019, the company began to work on a number of offshore wind projects, supplying larger wind farms with fabricated equipment in the UK. This includes a contract to offer production support for a tier 3 supplier in the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project.
HQ Fabrication Ltd designed five new pieces of equipment to improve current manufacturing systems, making the project more economic and efficient.
What started as a team of one in South Shields has since grown into a flourishing team of skilled operators and the company has ambitious growth plans in place to expand further. This includes creating a new department for the automotive industry, which will lead to the creation of a number of engineering and admin roles in coming months.
The company’s newest venture is to develop their own product portfolio and establish a “good manufacturing foothold” in the North East.
Chris Hall, director at HQ Fabrication Ltd said: “In the next five years, we have ambitious plans to grow in our home in South Tyneside and to develop our own product portfolio further.
“We’re looking to produce, manufacture and supply high quality products at a competitive price point in the UK, taking away the need to import products from abroad and work closely with our clients to service their needs and solve problems.”
