Lynn is recognised for lifetime of service to civil engineering

Lynn Puttock, from Cranleigh, has received a lifetime achievement award from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Southern) after more than 30 years of high-level service to the industry.

Lynn, who is currently Health & Wellbeing Director at Guildford-based Land and Water Group, was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award at a special ceremony in London.

Over the years, Lynn has played a major part in the successful growth of Land and Water Group into what is now an award winning group of companies made up of Environmental and Habitat Engineers. During her time with the company, she has covered many roles and in the last few years has moved from General Manager of Terraqua Environmental Solutions (a subsidiary of Land and Water Group) to Head of Health & Wellbeing within the Group.

Lynn has worked tirelessly with employees at all levels, and in her current role she has been instrumental in the creation of an internal mental health support website for Land & Water employees to access 24/7 wellbeing assistance. Despite not being able to drive, she regularly visits operational sites and ensures all employees have access to the correct training, including Mental Health First Aid courses.

Samantha Barratt, CECA Southern Chair, congratulated Lynn on her success, commenting: “Lynn is seen by many as the matriarchal figure and is an inspirational role model to all employees. Lynn has never shied away from any request and has found a way to complete any and every task she has been given and has put people and the company first throughout her career. She is now transforming the wellbeing approach at Land and Water and goes above and beyond to ensure each team member has access to the support they need in order to be mentally healthy.”

Lynn received her accolade at the annual CECA Southern Lunch & Awards ceremony held at The Brewery in London, with each winner receiving a trophy and cheque for £500.
