LabTech ahead of the eight ball with raft of Buck Street Market openings

LabTech, owner of the world-famous Camden Market, has announced the openings of an octet of operators at Camden’s Buck Street Market, the UK’s first eco-conscious consumer market. Covering six global culinary operators and two retailers, each brand brings something different to the sustainability-focused destination.

Nyce, the frozen dessert specialists, have opened on Buck Street Market’s first floor, offering healthy yet indulgent sweet treats. The fat and gluten free desserts are also high in protein, and include dairy-free options, alongside handcrafted acai and superfood bowls. Joining them is the recently launched Pho Kae Bakery, who sell everything from traditional crepes and bubble waffles to thick shakes and fruit smoothies.

Himalayan Dumpling are further diversifying the F&B offering at the destination, bringing Tibetan-inspired cuisine, that is also a staple in the Himalayan mountains and surrounding areas. Buck Street Market is their first standalone location and marks the start of the brand’s London expansion. Joining them is renowned Middle Eastern fusion street-food trader, Sameat, also having launched their debut permanent location at Buck Street Market. Offering everything from beef sushi to doner wraps and falafel plates, Sameat are delivering flame-grilled delights at the destination.

Adding Mexican zest to Buck Street Market’s F&B line up is Antojitos, the plant-based street food specialists. Starting in a food truck in Edinburgh in 2020, they won the top prize at the Scottish Street Food Awards in 2021, and have chosen Buck Street Market for their first London outpost. Jumping across the globe, Hiden Curry Lab are now providing authentic Japanese curry to Camden patrons, serving a small menu of signature dishes with a surprising sweet, hot, and savoury, rich brown sauce.

Adding to Buck Street Market’s retail offer is Cushion Talk, the unique craft-orientated store creating handmade, high-quality home décor designs, encompassing everything from cushions to stylish vases and striking artwork. Venth Creations have introduced handmade gifts, with an aim to make a positive impact on the environment, crafting luxury coconut shell products with materials that would otherwise go to waste.

Commenting on raft of F&B and retail openings, Maggie Milosavljevic, LabTech’s Commercial Director, said: “Buck Street Market is very much at the forefront of environmental progression in the UK, both in dining and retail. Each of these recently launched concepts bring something truly unique to the destination, whether that be international cuisine or sustainability-focused retail products, and have already been proving popular with our visitors.”

Lesley Calderon, Founder of Nyce, said: “We are delighted to have launched our first space at Buck Street Market, a destination that truly emulates our commitment to our customers and strides towards a more sustainable world. The support from the LabTech team has been second to none and has seen us take this important next step in the heart of Camden. We are so pleased to now be offering everything Nyce is about to a new North London audience, and feel proud to be evolving our brand in a location as exciting as Buck Street Market.”

Maham Kukda, Founder of Cushion Talk added: “When searching for a space to make our bricks and mortar debut we wanted to find a location as unique as our carefully curated brand, and Buck Street Market really stood out in this regard. With a whole host of other, ethically focused, authentic and craft-orientated brands trading alongside us at the destination, we feel truly at home here. We are proud to have developed from a pandemic lockdown concept to a fully-fledged handmade homeware retailer now operating in the beating heart of Camden.”

This announcement follows the wider news that prime family entertainment leisure concept, Babylon Park, has launched its debut UK site at Camden Market Hawley Wharf.
