This week's London appointments

This week’s round up of London appointments includes Barratt David Wilson North Thames, Nest Commerce and TripleLift. Read on to find out more.

Karly Williams and Marc Woolfe, Barratt David Wilson North Thames

Watford based housebuilder Barratt David Wilson North Thames has recently made two new promotions within the division, which operates across the Homes Counties including Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Former sales and marketing director Karly Williams will now take the lead as operations director, whilst Marc Woolfe, previously senior sales manager, will step up as head of sales for the division.

Karly Williams’ expansive 20 year career firmly has its roots within Barratt, having joined the business in a customer service role following similar roles in other industries. Within three months Karly was promoted to manager, where she then decided to undertake a Business Degree and specialise in Sales.

Karly commented: “As operations director, I will get to focus on other elements of the business such as land, planning, technical and commercial. The training process to get to this point has been eye-opening, as I have been able to get stuck into so many departments outside of my discipline, which I have really enjoyed.

Marc Woolfe initially joined the company in 2012 on Barratt’s ASPIRE Graduate Scheme, working in the South Midlands division. After successfully completing the programme, he was seconded to a Barratt Group project before returning to South Midlands as a Sales Manager in 2014.

Marc said: “I initially joined Barratt as a graduate ten years ago, and rotated around various departments for two years whilst I completed the ASPIRE programme. As soon as I settled into my placement with the sales team, I knew that was where I wanted to be.”

Lucy Downing, Nest Commerce

Nest Commerce has made a senior hire, appointing Lucy Downing as the company’s first client director. Nest Commerce is a paid social and creative agency that works with brands such as Ted Baker, Decathlon, ME+EM and Crew Clothing.

Lucy’s role will be focused on client retention and growth, working with the agency’s growing portfolio of clients and 50 paid social marketers running campaigns on platforms including Meta and TikTok. She will report to Will Ashton, CEO of Nest Commerce.

Lucy’s most recent role was at product design agency Somo where she was VP client engagement. She has 15 years of digital experience working across agency and in-house roles working with retail brands including The Body Shop, Mothercare, Tesco, Dr Martens and Burberry.

Ashton commented: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy to the team in this key new role as the business continues its growth journey. She will be the strategic point of contact for clients, gaining a deeper understanding of their challenges as we evolve our proposition to build high quality products and services for ecommerce brands.

Lucy added: “I am thrilled to join Nest Commerce as they continue to grow their business. As the largest Ecommerce Paid Social Team in the UK, I’m really looking forward to working with their impressive client list and helping them solve scale challenges and continue to build best-in-industry services for Ecoms.”

Kama Ostoya, TripleLift

Advertising technology company TripleLift has announced the “elevation” of Kama Ostoya to general counsel and appointment to the company’s executive leadership team. As general counsel, Ostoya assumes responsibility for TripleLift’s global legal and privacy organisations. She reports to TripleLift’s co-founder and CEO, Eric Berry.

In this role, Ostoya leads a global team supporting TripleLift’s rapidly expanding international business and operations. She is responsible for ensuring that TripleLift’s technology, practices and procedures meet policy requirements as global privacy regulation continues to evolve.

In addition, Ostoya is also tasked with driving TripleLift’s go-to-market privacy strategy, which is central to the company’s first-party data solutions, a result of their recent acquisition of award-winning data management platform, 1plusX. As TripleLift’s General Counsel, Ostoya is expected to announce a new Chief Privacy Officer in September.

Ostoya first joined TripleLift in March of 2020 as the company’s Deputy General Counsel where she played a key role in the integration of TripleLift into the Vista Equity portfolio in addition to executing TripleLift’s acquisition of 1plusX, an award-winning first-party data activation platform.

She commented: “Rapid global scale and transformation means there are many opportunities ahead of us, and we’ve got the brightest, most technologically and creatively audacious team that I have worked with to take advantage. We’re excited to continue being an industry thought leader for global legal and privacy regulations.”

In addition to her experience at TripleLift, Ostoya brings a wealth of senior legal experience to TripleLift, having served as senior counsel at Amazon Web Servies, at top tier law firms Latham & Watkins and Clifford Chance, and investments banks including Bank of America, Merril Lynch and Barclays.
