Ma Petite Jamaica, known for being London’s “first Caribbean Diner”,has announced it is opening a second location in the heart of Shoreditch, East London.
Following its success in Camden, the new spot will be taking over the site previously occupied by Cottons, which is itself moving to Hoxton Square.
Opening on August 25, just in time for Bank Holiday celebrations, the new outpost aims to be a “great place to meet and enjoy wonderful Caribbean food”, along with its signature rum-filled cocktails and bottomless brunch.
The popular Jerk Pitt & Reggae Bar will be bringing its menu over from North to East, including small plates of Jerk Wings, Sweet potato & pumpkin fritters, coconut coulis and chilli jam, and spicy buttermilk chicken tenders.
For mains , the new location will offer curried goat with rice and peas, jerk salmon, sweet potato & pumpkin mash, jerk sauce and callaloo, and red stripe chicken with basmati rice and plantain. Sharing platters, rotis, and wraps round out the selection along with chicken, pork, bream and veggies “straight from the jerk pit”.
For those wanting a taste of all the flavours of the Caribbean, Ma Petite Jamaica’s three-course bottomless brunch takes place every Saturday with two hours of unlimited rum punch tropical-style or Prosecco.
Ma Petite Jamaica also serves a range of cocktails including Rumpolitan (Santa Teresa claro rum, peach schnapps, Cointreau and a touch of lime juice with cranberry juice), Killer Doppi (four different rums mixed with apricot liqueur, blue curacao. Orange, pineapple and lime juice), or a classic Pina Colada!
Serving the capital since 2015, the brand proclaimed that this latest development is “just the beginning of the authentic restaurant spreading its wings”.
