UK’s First Geothermal Business Announces Rapid Scale Up as Demand for the Energy Solution Increases

The UK’s first end to end Geothermal business – CeraPhi Energy located in Great Yarmouth – has announced significant growth as the company reveals the appointment of six new members of staff and three new advisory board appointees.

The first company in the UK to offer a complete end to end geothermal energy solution from securing finance to full development and build or equity return, the business is experiencing significant growth with the appointment of three new team members in Great Yarmouth, one in its Houston office and a further two summer interns in the UK.

Speaking about the company’s rapid growth, Founder and CEO Karl Farrow said: “CeraPhi is attracting a huge amount of interest and as a leader in this field, we are experiencing significant demand for our geothermal energy solutions. With that comes the need to scale our business quickly and, most importantly, with the people who have the right skills and the same passion for clean energy solutions as the rest of the CeraPhi team.”

The new appointees comprise a number of mechanical engineering graduates and on the advisory board, a number of industry renowned experts including Howard Tollman, Rupert Cutler and Michael Kuhlman.

All with vast experience in energy, fintech and finance – including downhole development of advanced geothermal tool technology – the advisory board will form an integral part of the CeraPhi business with a focus on influencing and shaping Government policy on the use of Geothermal as a viable energy solution.

Only last month CeraPhi announced it had been appointed to work with Petrofac on a ‘first of its kind’ study that will test whether oil and gas wells in the North Sea can be repurposed for geothermal energy.

Geothermal is a form of renewable energy taken from heat derived from the earth’s subsurface and which is contained within rocks and fluids.  It is one of the cleanest forms of energy and can be used both as a direct power source as well as for heating and cooling utilities.
