County Durham training provider acquires Yorkshire based beauty therapy specialist

National training provider Learning Curve Group (LCG) is delighted to announce the acquisition of Yorkshire based beauty therapy training provider White Rose Beauty Colleges, in a move which will complement its existing academy provision.

LCG, which already has hair and beauty academies across the North East of England and London, will see the addition of a further 3,500 learners each year in nine new locations and 170 employees as part of the transaction, confirming its position as one of the largest providers of high quality beauty training in the country.

White Rose was founded in 1996 and has helped thousands of learners gain the skills and experience they need for careers in the beauty industry. It delivers a range of Beauty Therapy, Holistic Therapy, Sports Massage and Make Up Artistry courses.

White Rose is a Centre of Excellence with ITEC, a Flagship Centre with VTCT and a Habia Centre of Expertise, as well as achieving a Grade 1 Outstanding result in its most recent Ofsted inspection.

The deal sees County Durham based LCG further cement its position as one of the country’s “largest, most diverse and fastest growing, quality” training providers. LCG will now be delivering training from over 60 locations across England and Wales to add to its existing apprenticeship, community and Adult Education provision.

Brenda McLeish OBE DL, CEO at Learning Curve Group said: “We’re delighted that White Rose Beauty Colleges and all of their brilliant staff will become part of the Purple People family here at Learning Curve Group.

“It is important that any organisation that joins Learning Curve Group has shared values and a purpose, and I believe White Rose has exactly that.

“It is a fantastic business and one that has received a number of awards as a result of its commitment to providing quality training. I am looking forward to working closely with the teams as we embark on our next stage of growth.”

Karen Lee-Cooke, principal and founder of White Rose Beauty Colleges, added: “Learning Curve Group shares the same values as White Rose for transforming lives through learning. That alignment in ethos and culture will bring huge benefits, not just to learners but to employers in the health and beauty industry.

“Together we will be able to bring our range of multi-award-winning qualifications and training programmes to more learners across the UK than is currently possible, as well as benefiting from an even larger breadth of provision.”
