Retail media leader CitrusAd appoints adtech veteran Alban Villani as Regional CEO EMEA
With major retail partner wins in France, UK, Germany and Spain in 2022, CitrusAd has consolidated its position in retail media solutions by announcing the appointment of Alban Villani as its first Regional CEO – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
This is a strategic move in a year of innovation for CitrusAd, including delivering a unique approach to retail media via a unified on-site, off-site and in-store platform and an exciting roadmap of new features across retail media planning, advanced reporting, and dynamic asset creation.
“With a strong pipeline from across the region, this appointment ensures CitrusAd responds to the needs of our growing retailer and advertiser network. The addition of Alban will significantly strengthen our global executive team in its strategic evolution,” comments Adam Skinner, Chief Operating Officer at CitrusAd.
“It is a privilege to join CitrusAd at such an exciting time in its growth and development. The company’s mission to lead a new generation of full-funnel advertising solutions powered by first-party data has always resonated with me at a deeper level. EMEA’s multi-market economies present a major growth opportunity with spend expected to triple in the next four years. I am thrilled to join a team of committed professionals who want to deliver high-quality customer insights and transparent attribution to improve the overall online shopping experience,” adds Villani who will take up his post in late September.
Villani’s appointment reflects CitrusAd’s focus on ensuring each region (Americas, APJ and EMEA) is set up for success to drive hyper-focused growth and customer retention, whilst continuing to service retailers and advertisers. Attention to partners’ needs has been at the core of CitrusAd’s success in the last five years. Villani will be responsible for the CitrusAd business across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will be tasked with focusing on customer success, strategic partnerships, client retention, team growth, and new business development in the region.
Prior to his role as Senior Vice-President at Appier, Villani founded his own digital marketing and brand consultancy, and served as Regional MD for South Asia and Pacific at Criteo, where the region enjoyed significant growth under his leadership.
“Alban’s diverse retail media experience coupled with his consultative approach will provide a wealth of value as retailers embrace new opportunities across on-site, off-site and in-store retail media in the EMEA region,” adds Adam Skinner.
