Ryanair announces “biggest ever” winter schedule from Newcastle International Airport
Ryanair has announced its Winter 2022 schedule at its Newcastle base, with six new routes for sun and city break destinations such as Alicante, Barcelona, the Canary Islands, Cork, Krakow, Malaga and more.
With two based aircraft, representing an investment of $200m and 60 direct local jobs, Ryanair will operate over 80 weekly flights for Winter’22 to give Newcastle passengers “most choice at the lowest fares”, to top European destinations.
As other UK airports cut capacity and airlines cancel thousands of Winter flights, Ryanair claims to be the “only UK airline offering UK consumers growth at low fares” for their Winter ’22 and Summer ’23 travel plans.
Ryanair’s director of commercial, Jason McGuinness, commented: “Ryanair is pleased to announce its biggest ever Newcastle Winter schedule that offers 15 routes, including 6 new Winter to Barcelona, Cork and Milan Bergamo.
“Over 80 weekly flights will give Geordies and visitors an abundance of choice when booking their next city break or Winter sun getaway.
“This winter Ryanair is offering its UK customers lower fares and more certainty with their travel plans, as it operates a full schedule of over 3,000 daily flights with many new routes and unbeatable value for our customers and their families.
“We are delighted to continue our long-term development plan with Newcastle Airport in the Winter season to give our customers the most options for travel year-round, at the lowest possible fares, developing traffic, jobs and economic support to the area.
“To allow our customers and visitors to/from Newcastle to book their Winter holidays at the best possible fare, we are launching a seat sale with fares available from £21.99 for travel October’22 until January ’23, which must be booked by Friday September 9.”
