The Specialist Works appoints Thinkbox’s Sam Olive as Head of AV
Independent media agency for dynamic growth brands, The Specialist Works, has announced the appointment of Thinkbox’s Sam Olive as Head of AV. He will lead the AV specialist team at The Specialist Works, overseeing delivery of best-in-class media outcomes for clients across brand and performance AV activations.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, working for the likes of Ebiquity PLC, Mediacom, Total Media, NatMags and Pearl & Dean, Sam joins The Specialist Works, part of What’s Possible Group, from Thinkbox, the UK’s marketing body for commercial TV. As Thinkbox’s planning controller he was responsible for promoting the power of TV advertising to agencies. Sam will now work with his new team to bring this experience back to an agency setting.
Working collaboratively within The Specialist Works and across the breadth of the What’s Possible Group, Sam will be focused on creating growth focused, client centric solutions to an impressive roster of clients, alongside planning, buying and negotiating across UK and International linear TV, BVOD, CTV and cinema. He will work across a client portfolio including Frasers Group, Auto Trader, eharmony, Toolstation and Hastings Direct.
Verity Brown, MD at The Specialist Works said: “I greatly admire Sam’s proven track record within the AV industry, along with his energy and passion for his craft. He’s a smart and forward-thinking AV practitioner, whose expertise and skill will be a hugely valuable addition to our team and growing roster of clients. I am thrilled to have him join us at The Specialist Works and the wider What’s Possible Group family”
Sam Olive said: “After 20+ years in the industry, my specialist subject is television - planning, buying, auditing, consulting, promoting and supporting and I am thrilled to be joining The Specialist Works in what is such an exciting time for AV with so many new commercial opportunities on the horizon.”
“I’m so impressed by ‘The Specialist Works’, they are perfectly placed to take advantage of the evolving AV landscape.”
“I will miss the team at Thinkbox but look forward to attending future TV planning awards as a winning agency, rather than a judge.”
