Leeds based recruitment company receives seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK
A Leeds-based company, which specialises in recruitment for the engineering sector, has received funding from HSBC UK to support its plans for global growth and expansion of its mining services.
Brownlee Cale is using a 7-figure funding package from HSBC UK to support its plans to harness its UK mining engineering expertise and apply this to mining sectors globally.
As a result of the HSBC UK funding and the increased emphasis on global expansion, the business anticipates a £5m increase in turnover over the next 12 months and a four-fold increase in staff based in Brownlee Cale’s Leeds and Newcastle offices.
In recognition of its work as a small business and its significant contribution to the UK economy, Brownlee Cale was invited to Buckingham Palace in November 2022 in recognition of the importance of SMEs.
Kevin Sabin, managing director at Brownlee Cale, said: “The UK has a great mining engineering heritage and remains a global leader for its expertise in this area. We’re delighted to support the future of this industry by connecting the best the UK has to offer with global demand.
“The financial package from HSBC UK will enable us to experience significant growth at Brownlee Cale, and we’re excited to announce that this will include the creation of many new jobs in both our Leeds and Newcastle offices.”
Matthew Joy, commercial manager at HSBC UK, said: “We are pleased that our funding will support Brownlee Cale with its plans for international expansion and growth, whilst facilitating new job opportunities throughout the UK.”
Established in 2022, Brownlee Cale was formed through the merger of Tech Search Associates and Brownlee Dean. The firm specialises in temporary and permanent recruitment, contracting and consultancy within civil engineering, mining, facilities management, mechanical and electrical, construction, logistics, and distribution.
