This week’s Yorkshire appointments
This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes ARC Building Solutions, The Bigger Boat and McCormicks Solicitors. Read on to find out more.
Becky Partridge, ARC Building Solutions
Leeds based manufacturer ARC Building Solutions has announced the appointment of Becky Partridge as product analyst.
The former customer support team leader, who has been with the company five years, has joined the commercial team to drive forward technical documentation, fire testing and market trends analysis for ARC’s award-winning cavity fire barriers and cavity closers.
Her previous experience and technical knowledge mean she will continue to lead the technical enquiries for customer support but also focus on technical documentation and fire testing for the business.
Seeing it as a great opportunity to support the growth of the company and develop the existing product ranges, Becky remarked: “I am really looking forward to developing my skills within the team.
“Having spent five years with the company in my former customer support role I have built up a great deal of technical knowledge on our product ranges and I am now able to use that knowledge to create training and marketing materials which will be used across the company.
“Although different to my previous customer service roles I am really looking forward to the challenges and opportunities it will bring.” One of Becky’s first roles will be to update the training and product information to roll out enhanced training resources across the ARC team.
James Bornshin, The Bigger Boat
Integrated agency, The Bigger Boat, has bolstered its creative team with the appointment of senior designer, James Bornshin. Boasting 12 years of industry experience, with over five in a senior design capacity, James has worked across positions in advertising and graphic design, tackling projects for brands in industries from FMCG to financial services.
Drawing upon his expertise in design, James will be responsible for bringing concepts to life through creative projects, while working closely alongside the agency’s creative director to expand the branding arm of the business.
Having cited branding as an area of passion and specialism, James is keen to be involved in all aspects of the process — from helping define the vision and tone of a business, to crafting the brand identity and unveiling the finished article.
James commented: “There’s huge potential for TBB and it’s an exciting time to join the team. The culture here is second to none, we all have one another’s backs and are pushing towards the same goals.
“The ambition and direction from leadership is inspiring — I’m looking forward to growing alongside the business as it embarks on this next, exciting phase.”
Doug Main, creative director at TBB, added: “James’s appointment is a pivotal step in our plan to evolve the branding element of our business. With his wealth of expertise, we can begin to collaborate more effectively and focus our attention on pursuing some of the exciting opportunities that have been ticking away in the background.”
Alex Harrison, McCormicks Solicitors
North Yorkshire law firm McCormicks Solicitors of Harrogate has added to its team with the appointment of commercial litigation solicitor Alex Harrison.
Alex brings experience in a wide range of Commercial Litigation matters, including disputes in contract, debt recovery, property, IP and construction. He also has experience in professional negligence claims, harassment, defamation and insolvency (individual and corporate) matters.
Alex prides himself upon giving pragmatic advice and considering whether alternative dispute resolution is suitable. Away from the office, he is a keen mountaineer, cyclist, wild swimmer and rugby player.
He commented: “I was looking to join a firm with good clients and varied work and the prospects of long-term career progression and McCormicks ticked all the boxes!”
Senior Partner Peter McCormick added: “Alex has made his presence felt already thanks to his positive ‘can do’ attitude and he will be an asset to the team.” McCormicks won recommendation for its Commercial Litigation work in the latest edition of the legal guide, the UK Legal 500, which highlighted its work in both sports and commercial disputes.
