Expansion of fleet as Sunderland contractor experiences £5m “post-Covid boom”
Washington based Hadrian Air Conditioning has added three new vehicles to its now 15-strong fleet, as demand for its services reaches ‘boiling point’.
The company, which has seen its turnover increase to nearly £5m and is located at the Crowther Industrial Estate, has had between four and five vehicles sourced per year via Chester-le-Street based Anglo Scottish Asset Finance, and a total finance secured of approximately £300k, during the four years it has worked with the company.
Hadrian Air Conditioning managing director, Alan Unsworth, contacted Matt Nichols, vehicle sourcing manager at Anglo Scottish Asset Finance, with whom he had been working with for a number of years, to secure an additional Ford Kuga, a custom Ford transit, and a Ford Puma to increase its fleet, and meet the growing demands of the business.
Hadrian, which has nearly 40 employees and was established in 1985, works within commercial properties, retail, financial institutions, hospitals and educational establishments. Offering 24/7 reactive call outs, preventative maintenance visits and air handling systems preventative maintenance, the company works across the North East and beyond.
Established in 2007, Anglo Scottish Asset Finance is an independent finance broker, providing a range of services across the UK including asset finance, business loans, vendor and dealer finance, personal vehicle solutions and vehicle sourcing.
Alan Unsworth commented: “Business is very strong post-Covid and construction, a sector we operate heavily in, is booming. Happily, this has meant our work load is continually increasing and, in recent months, we have hired a new member of the team to help with the running of the service side of the business.
“This has freed up our service director, Michael Hurst, to proactively grow this side of our business to capitalise on the buoyancy within certain sectors, most notably construction.
“Matt Nichols has helped us secure a number of hire purchase deals throughout the years we have worked with him and Anglo Scottish and a number of lease vehicles for our office staff. All of which have been the ideal fit for our requirements.
Matt Nichols added: “I’ve come to know Alan very well over the years and he is the first person to say that time is a finite resource and one of the most valuable assets within his business.
“Like many other business owners, Alan is knee deep in the operational side of the business and the day-to-day running of Hadrian is extremely demanding. Therefore, having a reliable, efficient and well-connected company handling vehicle sourcing is imperative and ensures it’s one more thing that doesn’t land on Alan’s inbox.”
