Flexible workspace operator expands “premium” offering in Leeds city centre

Flexible workspace operator Clockwise announces the expansion of its presence in Leeds city centre, increasing its footprint within Yorkshire House by more than half of its current desk space.

The phase two announcement sees over 230 desks and nearly 13,000 sq ft of additional space, which will span six floors of Yorkshire House.

At the beginning of 2021 and during coronavirus restrictions, Clockwise Leeds scaled up to full occupancy filling 24,000 sq ft of flexible office space during its first phase, to meet the “ever-growing demand” in Leeds city centre for a “higher quality and premium” flex offering.

Building on this, phase two has already received an “overly positive” response and a significant proportion of the space has been pre-leased, resulting in Clockwise’s agreement to expand the second phase to almost double the space originally intended.

The Leeds site still has further expansion plans and will span six floors and 44,000sq. ft in total, once complete. It is just one of Clockwise’s 13 spaces in the UK, and the growth signifies a step in the business’ “ambitious” growth plans as it sets to continue opening more spaces in the UK and expanding more into European cities.

Alexandra Livesey, chief operating officer at Clockwise, commented: “We are thrilled to announce the expansion of Yorkshire House in Leeds, which goes to show there is a fast-growing local appetite for our workspace offering.

“The overwhelming response to our product has solidified the need to continue to deliver these premium but flexible spaces, meeting the criteria of our thriving community of SMEs, enterprises and businesses. Ultimately, we want to bring as many people in Leeds together as possible and continue to expand our entrepreneurial hub.”

Situated on Greek Street and less than 10 minutes from Leeds bus and train stations, Yorkshire House offers private desks, offices and meeting rooms accompanied by breakout areas, club lounges, and roof terraces. Members also have access to Two Hands, an onsite artisan café which provides a collaborative space for businesses and individuals.

All spaces have been designed to reflect the “changing nature of work”, with flexible leases and technology enabling seamless communication between those operating in a hybrid-work model, with the use of the Clockwise app and in-house A/V.
