London estate agent celebrates 30th anniversary with record-breaking year
2022 marked Finlay Brewer’s 30th year serving the three villages of Brook Green, Brackenbury and Askew and the team has celebrated the occasion by once again accomplishing a record year within its sales and lettings departments.
Further establishing its position as the “area’s leading prime estate agent”, Finlay Brewer closed over 50 sales in 2022, achieving a total value of £104m and securing a new house price record on Brook Green, whilst the lettings team ended the year with its best Q4 results to date that has seen total income increase by 10.5 per cent compared to 2021.
The business handled 75 per cent of all house sales in Brook Green, which accounted for 19 out of the total 25 transactions across the year, more than all of the other agents operating in the area put together. It also sold 75 per cent of all homes priced over £2m and was the only agent to secure the sale of a house over £3m in the W12 postcode.
Finlay Brewer was awarded with 65 per cent of all new house instructions across W6, W12 and W14, which is up by 40 per cent compared to 2021. The sales team were also appointed on 82 per cent of all new house listings in Brook Green, setting a new record.
Debbie McFadyen, head of sales at Finlay Brewer, commented: “Despite numerous challenges it has been another fantastic year for the sales team at Finlay Brewer and the perfect way to celebrate our 30th anniversary.
“As the long-standing property specialists of the area we are trusted to get the best results, which is reflected in our market share and the amount of new listings we are instructed to sell. We don’t take our position for granted and are looking to further build on these results in 2023, which we hope will bring more clarity and restored confidence in the market.”
The lettings market in 2022 has been influenced by strong pent-up demand and a lack of available stock, which has seen strong rental value growth (according to LonRes average rents across prime London are now 15 per cent higher than in 2019).
This has been reflected in the strong results achieved by the Finlay Brewer lettings team, with total new business rental income reaching £5.2m for the year, a new record and up 10.5 per cent compared to 2021.
Jonathan Bird, head of lettings at Finlay Brewer, added: “It has been an interesting period for lettings, with available stock never reaching the levels required to fully satisfy the demand. In a lot of cases, properties have been let within hours of going live on the property portals, and some never even make it online!”
