Kind-hearted Barratt Homes brings Christmas cheer to disadvantaged children

Kind hearted colleagues at Barratt Homes’ Southampton division have taken part in Operation Christmas Child - a gift-giving initiative organised by international relief charity, Samaritans Purse.

The five-star housebuilder, which proudly supports a number of local and national charitable organisations, says that with the cost-of-living crisis, it is more important than ever to help those less fortunate and think of others during the festive season.

James Dunne, Barratt Homes Managing Director, Southampton Division, said: “We may all be tightening our purse strings this Christmas, but we wanted to spread the festive cheer by con-tinuing to help those desperately in need.”

Operation Christmas Child sends shoeboxes filled with toys, games and other goodies to chil-dren throughout the world who may not otherwise receive gifts. It has been an initiative support-ed by Barratt for several years and staff donated £400 - enough money for a total of 20 shoe-boxes.

James continued: “This is a great way of representing our local area and helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The team here at Barratt Homes has responded brilliantly, and we’ve had lots of boxes piled up.

“We hope our efforts will bring some joy to children who may not have the Christmas they de-serve. We can only begin to imagine the hardships they may be facing this year, and I am so proud of my colleagues who have played a part in helping to put a smile on their faces.”
