Major new retirement community nears completion in Menston
The first apartments at Adlington Retirement Living’s latest community in Menston near Ilkley are now available to reserve off-plan, with the development due to complete ready for homeowners to move in this Spring.
The development, known as The Spindles, has been built by Adlington Retirement Living, which specialises in designing, building and operating award-winning integrated retirement living communities with care. Leading Yorkshire estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley has been appointed as the scheme’s preferred estate agent.
The Spindles occupies the site of the former Hare & Hounds pub, and the impressive four-storey building offers a selection of 72 privately owned one, two and three bedroom apartments for the over 60s. Most apartments benefit from patios or walk-out balconies and homeowners can enjoy the community’s extensive beautifully landscaped grounds.
In addition, The Spindles boasts a wide range of on-site amenities including an elegant restaurant, cinema room, activities studio, fully furnished guest suite, parking, hair salon, therapy suite and homeowners’ lounge. There’s also a homeowners’ parking area and a mobility scooter and bicycle store with electric charging facilities. Optional personal care packages are also available to suit individuals’ needs.
Dale Johnson from Adlington Retirement Living, said: “We always work hard at every development to nurture a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect.
“Many of our homeowners move to retirement communities whilst they’re fit and healthy, to future-proof their retirement. We offer a personal approach to care to ensure that each individual receives just the right amount to maintain their independence, allowing them to enjoy their retirement to the full.”
Lesley Shakeshaft, who heads up Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Burley in Wharfedale office, said: “Located in the heart of Menston, The Spindles is in a very popular location with lovely countryside, sports clubs, shops, pubs, restaurants, as well as all Guiseley’s amenities, nearby. Menston railway station is within easy walking distance and buses to Ilkley, Otley, Guiseley, Leeds and Bradford also stop right outside.
“We’re very excited to be launching these apartments and would urge anyone interested to contact us now to arrange to view the show apartments and experience for themselves the quality of what’s on offer.”
The apartments are all finished to an exceptional standard, with high quality 80 per cent wool carpets, feature fireplaces, fully-fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, specially designed level-access wet rooms, and most have en-suite bathrooms to the master bedrooms.
Every apartment also has a 24-hour emergency call system linked directly to a dedicated on-site team, an audio and visual entry system to the main entrance, wider doorways and spacious rooms for easy wheelchair access, as well as ample easy reach sockets, light switches and telephone points.
Adlington’s vision is to empower the older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life, by creating safe and secure environments with thriving communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes, providing an opportunity to enjoy retirement to the full.
