First homes set to be released for sale at development in Northfleet

The first homes at a new development on the former site of Northfleet Cement Works are due to be released for sale in the coming weeks.

Bellway London is set to build more than 500 new homes at its Harbour Village scheme on the disused brownfield site off The Creek. The housebuilder is opening a sales office at the development on Saturday 4 February 2023, when the first properties will also be put onto the market.

Detailed plans for the first phase of 121 homes at Harbour Village were approved in January 2022, with outline planning permission for the wider development of up to 532 homes granted in 2018.

Harbour Village will be part of the wider Ebbsfleet Garden City project, which is expected to create around 15,000 homes along with shops, commercial and office space, parks and public open space.

Emma Hamlett, Bellway London sales director, said: “The launch of the sales office on this development will mark a significant milestone for the site and will give prospective homebuyers the opportunity to secure the first properties that have been released for sale.

“There has already been a great deal of interest in the homes at Harbour Village and we expect this demand to grow once the site is launched. All of the houses will have gardens and the apartments for sale will feature a terrace or balcony, with some properties offering a direct view of the river.

“We are delivering a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses to meet the requirements of the local housing market by appealing to first-time buyers, families and commuters. This development will attract a mix of residents, helping to create a vibrant and diverse new community.”

Harbour Village is planned to include a new community centre, retail, commercial and employment space and an extension to the Fastrack bus route through the 76-acre site. The development will also feature a new playing field, parks and a riverside promenade.

Emma said: “Bellway London is proud to be playing a key role in the ambitious wider Ebbsfleet Garden City project which will see the transformation of a huge swathe of disused land along the south bank of the River Thames into vibrant new neighbourhoods with around 15,000 new homes and millions of pounds of investment in local infrastructure.

“Harbour Village itself is ideally located for a mix of different home-hunters. Parents will appreciate the proximity of well-regarded schools and the fact that it is a 10-minute drive from the bustling Bluewater Shopping Centre, which offers not only a large number of shops but also an array of cafes, restaurants, a trampoline park and a multiplex cinema.

“Meanwhile, commuters will benefit from being able to walk to both Northfleet and Ebbsfleet International train stations, which provide easy access into central London.”
