New MD to drive expansion at modular housing manufacturer CoreHaus

CoreHaus, a County Durham-based modular housing manufacturer, has promoted Dan Selby to managing director to drive its continued growth and expansion.

Dan originally joined the company as operations manager in 2020 and was instrumental in setting up the production facility at Jade Park, in Murton, near Seaham.

Dan said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of managing director at CoreHaus. It’s been a pleasure to head up operations for the company over the last two years and be directly involved in everything from launching the factory and building the team to developing the product and securing our first commercial projects. I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundations we have in place and driving this next phase of growth.”

John Beckford, chairman at CoreHaus, commented: “We are delighted to make this internal promotion at CoreHaus. Dan has been with the business since the start and has a wealth of modular manufacturing and construction experience. Before becoming an integral part of the CoreHaus team, Dan held senior positions with Robertson Timber Engineering and Moduloft and is very well placed to lead the business moving forward.”

CoreHaus has delivered its first affordable modular homes for Believe Housing in conjunction with award-winning regional housebuilder Homes by Carlton and is now ready to scale production at the County Durham facility.

The company has developed a £20 million pipeline of affordable housing projects spanning the North East, North West and into Scotland, and will now begin a recruitment drive to increase capacity.

Dan added: “Many housing associations across the UK are committed to delivering 25% of all new build homes using modern methods of construction. We are currently in the final pre-construction phase on two projects in the North West with a leading housing association and have developed a strong pipeline for the next two years across the North.”

“At CoreHaus, we are perfectly placed to provide a sustainable, flexible, high quality and competitively-priced solution. We have an ambitious five-year plan to build over 1,000 units per year, and I’m looking forward to growing and developing the team over the coming years and helping our partners deliver high-quality affordable housing with our modular solution.”

John Beckford added: “We’re committed to transforming the way new affordable homes are delivered and want to do this with social value at the core of our growth strategy. As CoreHaus establishes itself across the North we are building strong relationships with housing associations, contractors, education and training partners including Derwentside College and charities such as Building Heroes. We will be working closely with each of these stakeholders to support our future recruitment drive and reinforce our commitment to delivering high-quality sustainable modular homes combined with positive social, economic and environmental benefits.”

CoreHaus is a joint venture between national social enterprise Fusion21 - specialists in public procurement for the built environment - and Carlton & Co Group, the parent company behind North East-based luxury housebuilder Homes by Carlton.
