Newcastle UX agency wins six-figure tender to deliver skills bootcamp in the region
UserLab, a user-experience design-research agency in Newcastle, has announced that it has been awarded a £125k tender from the North of Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA) to deliver a User-Experience (UX) Skills Bootcamp to residents of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
UserLab is a “leading” provider of user experience design and research services. With a team of experienced designers, researchers, and educators, the company has helped organisations of all sizes to improve the user experience of their products and services.
UX Camp will be a comprehensive eight-week training program designed to teach individuals the fundamentals of user experience design including research, prototyping, and testing. The programme will be delivered in a hands-on, immersive format, allowing participants to apply what they learn to real-world projects.
Tom Devlin, founder of UserLab, commented: “We’re thrilled to be working with the North of Tyne Combined Authority to bring this important program to the North East of England. There is a huge demand for specialist digital skills in the region, and we’re excited to help meet that demand by providing high-quality, practical training.”
UX Camp will be open to people of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels, from individuals just starting out in the field to organisations looking to grow capacity within their teams. The program will run for eight weeks and will be facilitated in a hybrid fashion in UserLab’s office in Newcastle city-centre and online.
Elected Metro Mayor for the North of Tyne, Jamie Driscoll, added: “When we talk about the jobs of the future, this is the kind of thing we mean. These bootcamps are so important – helping to ensure we have the right people with the right skills to support our rapidly-growing tech and creative industries.”
