North East based street food restaurant My Delhi crowned the nation’s favourite

My Delhi, a North East based street food restaurant with branches in Newcastle and Sunderland, has been crowned the nation’s best street food restaurant of the year at the prestigious Nation’s Curry Awards.

The awards ceremony, held in Manchester, brought together the best of the UK’s curry industry, celebrating excellence in the field.

My Delhi was shortlisted with seven other street food restaurants from around the UK, but ultimately fended off “stiff competition” to win the coveted title. This is the latest in a string of recent awards for the restaurant, which also won the BBC show Britain’s Top Takeaways last year.

Director Elahi Amin expressed his gratitude and pride in the achievement, commenting: “We are incredibly proud to have been named the nation’s best street food restaurant of the year.

“Our team has worked hard to bring the authentic street food of Delhi to our customers in the North East, and this award is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

“Our native chefs from Delhi have brought their expertise and knowledge to our restaurant, ensuring that every dish we serve is authentic and bursting with flavour. We are honoured to receive this award and will continue to bring the best of Delhi street food to our customers.”

In addition to the accolades, My Delhi has plans to expand its presence across the UK with a new takeaway concept launching soon. The restaurant hopes to continue its success by bringing its delicious street food to even more customers across the country.
