APDO Expands its Professional Development Opportunities

APDO, the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers, has expanded its suite of highly acclaimed, online training courses.

The national association has introduced two new courses, which are aimed at enhancing client relationships and developing strategies to maintain paperwork, complementing APDO’s existing training opportunities which are available to both APDO members and non-members.

The first of the two courses, ‘Working with Clients: Exquisite Listening and Responding’ aims to improve listening skills, deepen confidence in asking powerful questions and develop the ability to respond more appropriately to facilitate better outcomes with clients, while the second: ‘Working with Clients: Paperwork Simplified’ has been designed to coach professional organisers to successfully sort, categorise, file, store, maintain and dispose of paperwork.

Jaime Frow, who leads APDO’s training and education team as APDO’s Professional Development Director, commented: “With an increasing appetite for flexible working, many individuals are considering alternative job prospects and even looking to retrain, in favour of new career opportunities that better suit their lifestyle choices. Setting up your own business and working for yourself offers many of the benefits that people are now seeking, and the continued growth of the professional organising industry is testament to this shift in attitudes.”

Jaime continued: “Bolstering our training offering with the addition of two new courses, which complement our signature Starting A Professional Organising Business course, will provide further professional development opportunities for APDO members and non-members alike, developing new skills as well as improving existing skills to grow their professional organising businesses.”

The new training courses offered by APDO are run online, and bookings can be made through the APDO website.

APDO, the UK’s membership association for decluttering and organising professionals, sets standards, provides professional development and supports the growth of the industry. Founded in 2004, APDO is a non-profit organisation and belongs to a global community of professional organising associations which foster collaboration to advance the industry through sharing information and ideas.
