Work underway on new homes in Sydenham, Leamington

A Midlands developer has started work on building 15 new homes in the Sydenham area of Leamington.

Deeley Homes is now on site for the development at the former Sydenham Industrial Estate off Ramsey Road, which is expected to be completed in Autumn 2023.

Warwick District Council gave the green light on the 15-home development in June and the first home is expected to be completed in September on what will be known as Kingsbury Close.

Demolition on the site has already been completed and infrastructure work is now underway, with roads being created, drainage work taking place, foundations of the first homes being put in place and the initial brickwork having begun The brownfield development is the final phase of the regeneration of the former Sydenham Industrial Estate, and will be accessed by Ramsey Road.

It will feature homes for sale for private ownership, including a mix of two and three bedroom properties, along with four homes for affordable social rent.

The homes earmarked for private ownership will be marketed by Deeley Homes, which has seen other recent successful developments in Moreton-in-Marsh and Pillerton Priors, Warwickshire.

Eleanor Deeley, joint managing director of Deeley Group, said: “Work is now underway and we are proud to be creating 15 new homes which will help to support the growing needs for more housing in Leamington.

“We are committed to delivering affordable homes and that provision is vital in the current economic climate.

“This brownfield development continues our regeneration work on the Sydenham Industrial Estate, following the creation of 147 homes on the site of the former Soans’ motor dealership four years ago.

“Our work on the site has brought great benefits in recent years and this latest development underlines our commitment to making improvements across the area to enhance the lives of those already living in the area.

“We are always on the look out for land opportunities to create further developments of this type from Coventry down to the Cotswolds, with Deeley Homes specialising in developments from 10 to 50 dwellings.”
