This week’s round up of Yorkshire appointments includes Axiologik, Brewster Bye and Flotilla. Read on to find out more.

Leeds based technology consultancy, Axiologik, recently appointed Andy Ireland as head of design practice and Rachel Mcelroy as head of marketing as they continue to grow their strategic leadership offer.
Joining as head of design, Andy Ireland, a former graphic designer, who most recently worked for Siemens PLM Software as a lead service designer introducing, educating and building out Service Design and User Centred Design.
At Axiologik, Andy will set up the design practice so that the whole team can start to offer these services directly to clients. Previously, Axiologik has overseen the design process, but generally collaborates with partners to complete the project.
Andy added: “I joined Axiologik for the opportunity to make real world impact happen, drive digital transformation, see and communicate the bigger picture and show and champion User Centred Design throughout the digital world.
Joining as head of marketing, Rachel Mcelroy, has worked in the technology sector for over a decade and was previously at Cloud Gateway. She is part of the Yorkshire board of the Certified Institute of Marketing (CIM) as Vice Chair of Comms.
Rachel added: “Axiologik is an unbelievable success story from Leeds having delivered some of the most impressive large scale digital services projects of recent years, including the Covid vaccination national roll out. I am delighted to join them at a pivotal time of growth and exciting new programmes of work that will impact society for the better.”
Alejandro Medina, Brewster Bye
Leeds based architecture practice, Brewster Bye, has appointed an architect who is originally from Spain, as it continues to grow following a string of new client wins and increased business from long standing clients.
Alejandro Medina has worked in architecture for almost 10 years and his portfolio of projects includes everything from residential homes through to museums, hotels and spas, as well as public spaces and student accommodation.
Mark Henderson, director at Brewster Bye, commented: “Alejandro’s portfolio or work is very impressive, having worked on interesting designs for museums, parks, city markets, and boulevards in Marbella, as well as education projects in Germany. We are fortunate to have him on our team.”
Alejandro added: “I have worked for clients in both the public and private sectors and enjoy providing clients with design guidance to create spaces that are as functional and attractive as possible.
“Since moving to the UK in 2019, and then working at Studio Map, I have gained valuable experience with the UK’s planning and building regulations and enjoyed working closely with engineers, suppliers, and consultants.
“I was keen to join Brewster Bye Architects as they have a wonderful range of clients and have designed many award-winning, and most importantly, really liveable and usable spaces over the years in Yorkshire and beyond.”
Dr Charlotte Weaver (PhD), Flotilla
Carbon accounting and net zero partner firm, Flotilla, has appointed Dr Charlotte Weaver (PhD) to lead on testing and analysis of its carbon accounting platform to ensure businesses can accurately measure their environmental impact.
Working alongside Flotilla’s sustainability director, Charlotte is responsible for the rigorous testing and data analysis of Flotilla’s carbon accounting platform, to ensure its accuracy and usefulness for businesses aiming to monitor their footprints.
Alongside her PhD, she has gained experience working with governmental organisations, local councils, and charities such as the United Bank of Carbon (UBoC) and Raleigh International.
Her work with UBoC, in connection with the White Rose Forest, helped inform a carbon-based tree planting strategy for thirteen Yorkshire local authorities and was incorporated into the White Rose Forest Action Plan 2021-2025.
Charlotte commented: “Businesses play a central role in climate change and therefore have the capacity to make a huge difference. I’m excited to help our clients create sustainable solutions to reaching net zero.
