APDO Celebrates Annual Spring Clearing Week
APDO, the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers, is celebrating its Spring Clearing Week, the association’s annual nationwide campaign aimed at helping the UK to declutter.
Now in its sixth year, Spring Clearing Week is taking place this week (20-26 March), this year with the theme ‘improving your space, mind and mood for better mental health’. By sharing valuable advice and practical guidance, APDO members will be promoting the benefits of clearing your home for your mental health, and helping others to access the tools they need to clear the physical clutter in their lives and improve their overall wellbeing.
The APDO community will also be coming together to help others create daily habits to maintain their space, with professional organisers across the nation sharing information and insight on APDO’s website and social media channels. Marie Bateson, Amanda Biggs, and Katherine Harris of the APDO Board, joined by APDO member Louise Muratori, will also be donating a day of their time on the first day of Spring Clearing Week to organise the Accrington Hub of Lancashire-based women’s charity, Lancashire Women.
Siân Pelleschi, President of APDO commented: “Our growing community is firmly committed not only to helping those who need help with organising and decluttering, but also to building awareness of professional organising as a service industry and the benefits it can bring to people’s lives.”
Siân continued, “One of our key annual initiatives, Spring Clearing Week is all about helping and inspiring the public to take action and improve their lives and spaces. This year, we are aiming to help others attain feelings of calm, control, and clarity by tackling any clutter in their homes or work spaces. Should any individuals wish to enlist professional help to do this, they can locate their nearest organiser on the APDO website.”
APDO, the UK’s membership association for decluttering and organising professionals, sets standards, provides professional development and supports the growth of the industry. Founded in 2004, APDO is a non-profit organisation and belongs to a global community of professional organising associations which foster collaboration to advance the industry through sharing information and ideas.
