iFLY launches into The O2 for London debut
The O2, which is owned and operated by AEG and Crosstree Real Estate, has announced the opening of iFLY, the indoor skydiving experience, marking the operators London debut.
iFLY London has opened its 4.3m wide wind tunnel at The O2, joining a plethora of leisure operators such as TOCA Social, Boom Battle Bar, Hollywood Bowl, and Oxygen Freejumping. This marks the brand’s first London location and fourth in the UK, following a successful expansion strategy across 90 sites worldwide. iFLY London at The O2 is the ninth generation of iFLY wind tunnels and boasts a new modular design, allowing much quicker and less expensive build times, generating wind speeds of up to 150mph.
Terry Raymond, General Manager at iFLY London at The O2, commented on the opening: “We’re thrilled that we are opening at The O2 in time for Mother’s Day and the busy Easter holidays; the gift of flight is ideal for loved ones. iFLY indoor skydiving is an exciting activity that all ages and abilities can enjoy. We’re delighted to bring this sport to London, and in no better location than the world’s most popular music, entertainment and leisure venue.”
Janine Constantin-Russell, Managing Director at Icon Outlet at The O2 and the Entertainment District added: “The O2 is all about experiences and we’re constantly exploring ways to keep our offering exciting, fresh and enticing for visitors to The O2, come day or night, and I believe iFLY does exactly this. It is an entirely unique leisure experience and one which brings excitement for all age groups. I can think of no better place to launch London’s first indoor skydiving experience than a destination which is known to raise the roof on a daily basis!”
This news follows The O2’s stellar trading figures, in which the Entertainment District saw a 44% uplift in sales like-for-like compared to January 2022. The destination is also set to welcome JD Wetherspoon in the coming weeks, as well as a monthly residency with comedian Peter Kay and 10 nights of Elton John.
Both parties dealt directly.
