Adlington Retirement Living sells-out tenth Integrated Retirement Community
Adlington Retirement Living has sold all 57 luxury apartments at The Cottons, its retirement community in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester.
The Cottons welcomed its first homeowners in March 2020 and is the tenth Adlington Retirement Living community to sell-out.
Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “We’re really pleased to have welcomed homeowners to all 57 of our apartments at The Cottons now. There’s a real sense of community there and it’s wonderful to see so many homeowners enjoying their retirement.”
The 24-hour on-site support teams provide homeowners with peace of mind and help with the little things, as well as the big, providing a consistent, outstanding service for homeowners.
Dr Ed Gladman, CEO of Adlington Retirement Living, believes The Cottons is a wonderful example of a new blueprint for retirement living: “Adlington’s vision is to empower our older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with active communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes.
“Moving to a retirement living community offers an opportunity for our homeowners to remain independent with the reassurance of support, right on their doorstep. They don’t have to worry about the maintenance and upkeep of a house, so they can spend more time socialising and doing the things they love.”
Talks and special events are regularly delivered with guest speakers, authors and performers. Last year homeowners at The Cottons welcomed a local author to share the fascinating true story of two Second World War Spitfire pilots. Cliff, a homeowner who attended the event, said: “It was wonderful to hear John’s talk and the amazing story of those young pilots. It really brought history to life. We had a super afternoon sharing anecdotes and asking questions.”
Through its partnerships with local CQC qualified care providers, every community also offers consistently high standards of tailored personal care packages to homeowners in need of assistance. Care provision is completely flexible, allowing the team to arrange short-term support for post-operative care or after an illness, or more long-term assisted living.
Four of Adlington’s communities have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
Adlington Retirement Living was also crowned Seniors Housing Developer of the Year and its new retirement community in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, won Seniors Housing Scheme of the Year at the HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards 2022.
Other recently opened communities include The Sidings in Lytham, Lancashire, The Woodlands in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, and Jacobs Gate in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Seven more communities are due to open in the next two years including The Spindles in Menston, Yorkshire, The Newells in Kempston, Bedfordshire, Broadleaf House in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield and Brookfields House, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
