Major Southam development underway
Work is underway on the first construction project from Warwickshire Property & Development Group (WPDG).
Sucham Park is a 42,000 sq ft industrial scheme and will deliver nine new commercial units to support a wide range of businesses at Holywell Business Park, which forms part of the established Kineton Road Industrial Estate in Southam.
Warwick-based MCS Group has been appointed as the construction partner for the scheme and work is expected to be completed in winter 2023. Ground works have been completed and the steel structure of the building has been erected.
The development brings into use land that has remained unused for many years and is being completed to a highly energy efficient standard.
It will feature 10 electric vehicle charging points at its onsite car park, with unit sizes ranging from 1,900 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft and photovoltaics on the roof of the scheme. The scheme is expected to create 100 jobs in the region when completed. Stuart Buckley, Managing Director of WPDG, said: “This is a key milestone in the short history of Warwickshire Property & Development Group and it is great to see work now well underway on site.
“One of our core objectives is to ensure that development sites across the county achieve their economic potential. This strategically well-placed development will provide space for companies to thrive and create important job opportunities for local people. “It’s an exciting moment for everyone at WPDG to see our first construction project underway, which will be the first of a wide range of projects across the county which will bring widespread economic benefits.
“It is fantastic to be able to work in partnership with a locally based firm in MCS Group to deliver this development.” MCS has delivered several projects in Warwickshire in recent years including a new Volvo dealership and a £10 million office refurbishment project, both on Tachbrook Park, Warwick.
Keir Edmonds, of MCS, said: “This is a great project to be involved with in our 20th anniversary year and highlights our expertise in the industrial sector. “We have a strong order book together with a good set of financial results for the current year which makes us the perfect partner for schemes of this type.”
