Côte restaurants launches new pop-up in “prestigious” central London location

Côte restaurants has launched a special pop-up in Sloane Square to welcome the start of summer outdoor dining.

Côte on the Square, part of the area’s ‘Summer in the Square’ experience, will showcase a selection of the popular restaurant’s French inspired classic dishes.

Côte on the Square, in the heart of Chelsea, is in partnership with champagne brand Laurent-Perrier with a menu specially designed for “lazy afternoons, after-work apéritifs with friends or weekend sundowners”.

This is the second year for Côte after last year proved a “phenomenal success” at the outdoor setting in Chelsea’s most famous Square. The popular collaboration offers open-air seating surrounded by colourful bunting and twinkling festoon lights as the sun goes down.

Supported by Cadogan and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, ‘Summer in the Square’ is part of a borough-wide initiative to encourage the neighbourhood’s café culture. It will be complemented by a “packed” programme of summer events, beginning with London’s largest free flower festival, Chelsea in Bloom.

The Côte on the Square menu has been specially created by Steve Allen, Cote executive chef and former executive chef for Gordon Ramsay. The chef, who has worked at Michelin starred restaurants, joined Côte last year and has focused on fresh seasonal ingredients to showcase classic French cuisine.

Dishes include freshly prepared baguettes, Salade Rachel, smoked salmon, crab on toast, roast boeuf, the Côte Sharing Board featuring a selection of cured French meats such as truffle saucisson sec and Coppa del sec, alongside a creamy baked French Camembert with a crispy herb breadcrumb.

The menu also features a new ‘for the table’ section which launched on Côte’s main Spring menu last month and includes Cheese Gougeres, Fougasse and allumette potatoes. The menu also includes desserts including crème caramel, chocolate mousse, strawberries & crème fraiche, ice cream, sorbets and cheese and biscuits.

The Côte on the Square menu also features the breadth of the Laurent-Perrier Champagne range, alongside a selection of cocktails with, including a twist on an Aperol Spritz, the Pampelle Spritz, Kir Royale, French 75 along with a selections of gin and tonics, beers, ciders and soft drinks. This joins Côte’s list of chilled rosés, crisp whites and reds.
