Cardiff marketing agency achieves global recognition - B Corp
Millrace Marketing receives a B-corp accreditation with an impressive score of 106.6.
With average scores around the 94-point mark, the five-year-old agency’s commitment to delivering a triple bottom line structure (one that incorporates three dimensions of performance: social, environmental, and financial) has shone through and they’ve achieved the international stamp of approval for a business’ social and environmental performance.
There are only around 30 companies in Wales who hold this status, and these businesses typically use profits and growth to a provide positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment.
Laura Aherne, director, Millrace Marketing said: “We couldn’t be prouder to achieve B Corp status. It was always something we strived to achieve, but to formally receive the recognition this early into our agency journey is absolutely testament to my colleagues and clients. From day one, I wanted us to walk the walk, and truly embed a sustainable and social operation to people and planet in everything we do.”
As well as the B Corp achievement, Millrace Marketing has also been awarded Chwarae Teg’s Silver FairPlay Employer recognition. To achieve this, Millrace’s approaches to inclusion within the workplace were reviewed by the leading gender equality charity in Wales and deemed to successfully put equality, diversity, and inclusive working practices at the heart of the agency.
Laura Fordham, commercial director, Chwarae Teg said: “Millrace’s accreditation level shows they are leading the way with Environmental and Social Governance in the workplace, and for the clients they represent.
“As we move into a new era of socially conscious business, we are delighted that organisations like Millrace are building on strong foundations and recognising that accreditation in this field is vital for long-term strategies and, in turn, the bottom line. There are only a handful of organisations in Wales with Silver award status so an outstanding result for the team at Millrace.”
