Bru announce move to Miles Street

High street favourite Bru coffee & more is set to open a brand-new café in Vauxhall on the ground floor of Downing’s Vega student accommodation beside the entrance to contemporary office development Miles Yard, adding to its other sites in Leicester, Cardiff and Greater London.

The boutique coffee shop, which offers a wide range of food and drink options catering for all tastes, diets, and occasions, is set to open its doors in June 2023.

Providing high quality, ethically sourced 100% speciality arabica coffee with both indoor and outdoor seating, Bru coffee & more will deliver all day trade suitable for all consumer habits, from early morning coffee, post-work out or late-night desserts. The coffee brand also has one of the most generous loyalty apps and programmes on the high street, offering free coffee, birthday treats, special offers and much more.

The Bru Vauxhall management team consisting of Umeyr Saeed, Usman Zafar and Waqar Khan recently reached out to local residents as they look to shape a menu meeting the demands of the community.

Umeyr Saeed, owner at Bru Vauxhall, said: “We felt there was a real opportunity for Bru opening its third London site at Miles Street, as the area was missing a student-friendly, community-centric café with a versatile menu which offers a lot more than just average coffee.

“The new site on Miles Street is a high-quality facility where we can provide the best service with customers in mind. We are looking forward to moving in and building a long-term relationship with our customers!”

Set within Vauxhall’s thriving and rapidly expanding commercial community, Downing has let 1,350 sq ft to Bru, to enhance the health and wellbeing offering of both Vega and Miles Yard.

Miles Yard offers a range of Grade A office space up to 27,457 sq ft, from ‘HQ style’ spaces to highly efficient single floor plates. It has achieved an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM score and an A-24 EPC rating, putting it in the top 10 per cent of the UK non-domestic buildings for sustainability.

Facilities are tailored to simplify a healthy work-life balance, including 50 cycle racks, 50 lockers, five showers, 25 self-drying cabinets, a cycle repair station and a private entrance for commuters, alongside a private winter garden and a rooftop multi-use games area, which incorporates a static gym.

Located in Zone 1, the building is just a two-minute walk to Vauxhall station which provides both Victoria Line and Overground connectivity. Nine Elms Station and the Northern Line is only a six-minute walk away.

Bru coffee & more’s introduction will complement the host of other amenities that surround Miles Yard, including bars, gyms, restaurants, shops and hotels.

John Clegg, Head of Property at Downing, said: “As the world of work continues to evolve, we understand the importance of high-quality F&B and retail tenants in the local area, for our tenants. The introduction of Bru coffee will enhance the overall, work, life, play offering at Miles Yard, as we welcome this café to the neighbourhood.”

Miles Yard sits beside two other Downing developments, the 37-storey student accommodation development, Vega, which comprises 841 beds and Atlas, the 32-storey student development providing 570 bedrooms.
