New cafe opened at popular garden centre
Wilkinsons Landscapes has officially opened its café, which will serve keen gardeners and visitors at its Urlay Nook site. The café, which was the idea of managing director Simon Wilkinson, has been months in planning with construction starting in March to build the brand-new facility within the existing Wilkinsons Landscapes Nursery. Customers who visit the café will be offered a selection of hot and cold drinks, breakfast buns with locally sourced meat, cakes and cookies which can be taken away or consumed in its 88-seat dining area within the nursery. The café opening has also created six new jobs for local people. Simon Wilkinson, managing director of Wilkinsons Landscapes said: “I’m excited to announce the opening of our café. It’s a fantastic asset to our nursery and expands our offering to customers. We have installed a state-of-the-art coffee machine and perfected our menu, so we have something for everyone.” Milli Greener, café manager said “Our customers love our selection of sandwiches, coffee and baked goods. We’re working closely with local business Acorn Dairy, which is an organic farm supplying the café with high-quality milk. “It’s great to be working with high quality local businesses for our family managed café.” John and Ina Briggs, the first visitors, were impressed and said “We’ve been coming here for years and have suggested a café in the past, we have finally got our wish! “And the main thing is it’s a lovely cup of tea!”
