Easyfundraising celebrates as it is named one of the UK’s Great Places to Work
Easyfundraising has been recognised as a Great Place to Work, one of the highest accolades a business can receive for fostering a good workplace culture.
The online shopping platform, which employs over 80 staff, has helped charities and good causes benefit to the tune of over £47million since launching in 2007.
Great Places to Work is a global scheme which aims to recognise employers and employees who foster a good workplace culture. It was set up in the belief that a positive workplace culture creates a positive workplace.
Initiatives which have helped the company be recognised as a Great Place to Work include its Cause of the Year Award. The current Cause of the Year is HomeStart Birmingham North-West, which is receiving help and support including from easyfundraising business buys, volunteer support from easyfundraising staff and additional fundraising support via staff engagement days and activities.
Staff can also enter the Employee of the Year Award scheme. Nominations open for colleagues and a winner is chosen by the senior leadership team; the winner receives a trophy and £500.
Health and wellbeing schemes include an Employee Assistant Program (EAP), weekly bootcamp sessions and weekly yoga sessions. Employees are encouraged to take part to boost their physical and mental health.
The Christmas Fuddle, which started in 2012, is another popular initiative. Staff are invited to the company’s offices and a huge buffet is put on where everyone is asked to bring along something they enjoy eating.
James Moir, the CEO of easyfundraising, says: “Fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture is important at easyfundraising.
“We recognise the efforts of colleagues with our Employee of the Month programme and shout out great work at our weekly huddle.
“We work together as a team and every effort we make helps charities and causes raise much needed donations, job satisfaction doesn’t get much better than that.
“Our workforce is hugely important to us and we’ll continue promoting a happy environment and making our employee experience a positive one.”
Lucy Westwood, easyfundraising’s Senior Lifecycle Manager, says: “Everyday I get to work with brilliant colleagues on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.
“I especially enjoy testing new ideas and learning how we can make it easier for our causes to raise more.”
Easyfundraising is an online shopping platform which allows 166,000 charities and good causes to raise free donations each time a supporter uses easyfundraising’s app, website or toolbar.
There are more than 7,500 brands signed up and money can be raised when supporters spend on a range of products from everyday groceries and clothes to insurance and holidays.
