Residents and Families Connect Through Crochet Club at Madeira Lodge Care Home
Madeira Lodge Care Home have launched a Crochet Club thanks to the inventive approach of Activities Coordinator, Adele Grant. This creative endeavour invites residents and their families to come together to learn and practice the art of crochet.
With this fresh initiative, Adele Grant weaves a thread of creativity, skill-sharing, and companionship through the very fabric of the Madeira Lodge community contributing to the rich tapestry of activities at Madeira Lodge.
Karen Way, Madeira Lodge Manager says: “Adele loves crafting, and she knew that many of the residents at Madeira Lodge enjoy it too. Adele pitched the idea, and we loved it. The club is now a regular feature at Madeira Lodge with residents and their families eager to join in, show off their latest creations and chat with their fellow crafters.”
With thanks to a donation of wool from a New Romney community member the first meeting of the crochet club was a huge success. With residents and their families taking the time to participate Adele was thrilled to see everyone sat around the table chatting and laughing as they prepared to work on their projects.
Adele says: “I’m proud to have been a part of something so special, I’m really looking forward to continuing to create new and exciting opportunities for the residents of Madeira Lodge to connect and thrive.”
