‘Very popular’ Gateshead development launches first new affordable homes
A selection of two and three-bedroom homes have been constructed for affordable housing provider, Hellens Residential, as part of Homes by Esh’s Mount Park development in Gateshead.
The 11 homes will be released for sale at 70 per cent of the market value, backed by the Government’s Discount Market Sale scheme which aims to help people purchase their own home.
Mount Park is in Springwell Village, a countryside setting with “excellent” commuter links to the A1 and A19, just 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle City Centre. The site features 75-homes which are set amongst 1.3 acres of publicly accessible green open space, complete with a children’s play area.
Colin Willetts, deputy managing director at Homes by Esh, commented: “This is the first time we have worked with Hellens Residential, and we’re delighted to have handed over the first properties which provide the ideal opportunity for families, couples, and solo purchasers to buy their own home in a sought-after location.
“Mount Park has proven to be a very popular development; we are now 80 per cent sold and the site is due for completion at the end of this year.”
Hellens Residential is committed to providing low-cost home ownership options and offers homes which are sold at a discount to market value.
Kate Hellens, managing director of Hellens Residential, added: “We are delighted to be delivering more affordable housing and providing opportunities for local people to make their first step on the property ladder. We have just launched phase one consisting of three discount sale homes with a starting price of £178k for a two-bedroom property.”
Homes by Esh is a privately-owned housebuilder, part of Durham headquartered Esh Group. The remaining two and three-bedroom homes are on sale now with prices starting at £299,995.
Each Mount Park home comes complete with Homes by Esh’s high specification by design promise and is said to be “greener and more economical than an older home”, helping buyers to cut down on energy consumption and water usage.
There are 11 different house types throughout the development, providing a varied selection of styles, sizes and layouts for house hunters while also creating a distinctive neighbourhood.
