Yorkshire Powered Access Specialists, Horizon Platforms, Scale New Heights to Raise £8,860 for Andy's Man Club
Yorkshire based powered access specialists Horizon Platforms recently raised £8,860 for Andy’s Man Club after tackling the highest peak in England, Scafell Pike. This brings their total raised for the year so far to an impressive £9,624.
The charity initiative this year has so far seen events such as raffles, bake sales, auctions and even a casino themed fundraiser.
On Wednesday 14th June, Horizon Platforms co-owners and partner network colleagues climbed England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike, to raise much needed funds for Horizon Platform’s chosen charity of the year, Andy’s Man Club.
Being an employee owned business, employees have the opportunity to vote for which charity they’d like to dedicate time to each year. After a voting process was carried out amongst employees, Andy’s Man Club came out on top, winning with a clear majority vote.
Andy’s Man Club is a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. Their aim is to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation.
The team at Andy’s Man Club came along to the Horizon Platforms HQ to share more insights on what the charity stands for.
Lucy Normanton, Director of People & Internal Communications at Horizon Platforms said; “Supporting our chosen charity each year is a big part of our culture. Just like we work hard to support the health and wellbeing of all of Horizon’s co-owners, we’re passionate about supporting organisations that have people at the heart of what they do.”
Horizon Platforms lead a network of like-minded powered access specialists, combining expertise and high-standards from over 31 of the best independently owned specialists in the UK. The partnership network programme within Horizon Platforms also allows for more opportunities for businesses in the partnership network to work together to do important things such as raising money for charities.
So far this year, Horizon Platforms and their partners have raised over £9,624 for Andy’s Man Club. This would not be possible without the support of the businesses involved in the partnership network.
