Gateshead Metrocentre store creates new jobs with expansion and refurbishment
Metrocentre Gateshead Goldsmiths showroom, located in the Lower Green Mall, is now closed for refurbishment and will reopen ahead of Christmas.
As part of the refurbishment, the showroom will undergo a 2,500 square foot expansion in a bid to expand the showrooms product offering and shopping experience for Metrocentre clients.
Whilst the showroom is closed, Goldsmiths, the UK’s leading luxury watch and jewellery retailer, have opened a temporary pop-up boutique in the Upper Platinum Mall opposite Jack Wills.
The Goldsmith showroom expansion follows a series of exciting retailer openings at Metrocentre, including Apricot, Rowen Homes, Moda in Pelle, Hobbs and Skopes.
Ben Cox of Sovereign Centros, senior asset manager for Metrocentre, commented: “We’re pleased to be able to support Goldsmiths, a brilliant brand with northern roots, with the opening of their new refurbishment.
“Here at Metrocentre, we’re always looking for ways to improve our customers’ shopping experience and we hope that, with these new store openings and developments, we’re doing just that.
“As well as an extended space and product offering, the development of the Goldsmiths showroom will bring with it more job opportunities for the local community.”
