Develop Croydon hosts round table exploring sustainable opportunities in logistics
Develop Croydon, a leading organisation dedicated to promoting economic growth and development in the Croydon area, convened a round table discussion on Sustainability and Industrial on Wednesday, 24 May, 2023.
The event brought together industry experts, developers, occupiers, and key stakeholders to explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding sustainability in the rapidly growing last-mile logistics sector.
The round table focused on the increasing demand for last-mile logistics in London and the south and the pressing need for sustainable practices. With new legislation and ambitious net-zero targets, the market is undergoing a significant transformation.
Meeting these sustainability goals will require substantial changes and the acquisition of a skilled workforce proficient in modern and sustainable logistics practices.
The panellists at the round table included Bonnie Stephensmith, associate director at develop Croydon and chair of the meeting; Alex Gale, partner at SHW; Simon Perks, director at Capital Deployment, Prologis; a spokesperson for Amazon Economic Development; and Alex Hickman, director at KSP/GLi.
Their expertise and insights contributed to a robust and constructive discussion on the future of sustainable logistics in Croydon and beyond.
Develop Croydon remains committed to driving sustainable growth and fostering collaboration within the industrial and logistics sector. The round table outcomes will inform future initiatives and the November Develop Croydon annual conference.
