Danish homeware store opens in Sheffield City Centre
Danish homewares store, Søstrene Grene, has officially opened at Cambridge Street, Sheffield. The much-anticipated launch took place last Friday and saw queues in their hundreds of excited customers waiting to be amongst the first to browse the store.
Marking the first ever Yorkshire opening, Søstrene Grene has now launched in Sheffield City Centre. Enticing shoppers with an exciting giveaway, hundreds queued last Friday for the chance to receive a stylish rug worth £60 and a canvas tote bag filled with goodies from the brand.
Guests at the grand opening were treated to refreshments and a classical string trio performing contemporary covers. Cllr Colin Ross, Lord Mayor of Sheffield, cut the ribbon to officially unveil the new store, before customers finally entered to see the huge variety of high-quality affordable products available.
Located in the recently regenerated development at Grosvenor House on Cambridge Street, Søstrene Grene offers affordable Scandinavian designs, with frequent new product drops and seasonal collections. From contemporary homewares and craft items to children’s toys, kitchen accessories and more.
The latest addition to the Søstrene Grene family of over 275 stores worldwide, the opening holds particular importance to Joint UK Venture Partner, Jonathan Cooper, who calls Sheffield his hometown.
Jonathan comments: “Having opened Søstrene Grene stores throughout the North of England, I’ve always been keen to open a branch in Sheffield. This is the city where I grew up and started my retail career, so it holds a special place in my heart.”
“Seeing the turnout at the Grand Opening has truly blown me away. The regeneration of the area is now fully underway and I can’t wait to see further units being occupied to cement Sheffield City Centre as the go-to destination for shopping and leisure.”
